70th Birthday Bash

May 2, 2013

Creative & Marketing Director Kim recently hosted a 70th birthday bash for her mom, Carrie.  We decided to do it up Michelle Tiek Photography & Design-style!  Kim decided on a travel theme since her mom has travelled all over the world.  Everything was tied into our theme from the invitation to the dessert table signs and even the party favors which were mini airline peanuts!  We used fun travel themed props like suitcases, a globe, model airplanes, maps and more to create the look.  Kim displayed fabulous photos of Carrie and family over the years and scattered them throughout the favor table and dessert table.  We used blue Ball jars for flowers and tan linens to give the decor a vintage feel.  A special thanks to MBP Catering for the amazing hors d’oeuvres and Classic Cakes of Carmel for the gorgeous travel themed cake!  Let us know if you have a party coming up and want us to help!

Purple Polar Bear 1st Birthday Party

February 11, 2013

We celebrated our baby girl’s first birthday this weekend with a huge birthday bash!  She’s our only girl, so we HAD to go all out!!  The theme was purple polar bears and everything turned out great!  Below is my family before the party.  My sons were even excited to get all dressed up in purple and picked out their own outfits.  So cute!

The cake table was the central focal point for the party.  It was covered with purple goodies!  All of the desserts were made by Sherry McClure of Cake Connection.  She made a gorgeous cake, mini cupcakes, sugar cookies, cake pops and chocolate mousse.  Yummy!!

I designed all of the printables so that they would match the theme!  We had banners, food labels, cupcake toppers, etc. that all matched.  So cute!

Over the past year, I have taken SO many photos of baby Stella, so we used some of those photos as centerpieces for the tables along with gorgeous flower arrangements that were made by a friend.  The table linens were rented from Party Time Rental.

The clubhouse where we had the party had 30 foot ceilings and lots of blank wall space, so we ordered poster sized photos from Vista Print.  They turned out great.

The guests were given sugar cookies made by Stone House Oven and Hershey’s bars made by wrappedhersheys.com.

We hung a photo banner using photos from each month, clothes pins and some tulle.

Gorgeous flowers

I made her a birthday hat using a DIY tutorial.

Purple straws were purchased from Drowning In Paper.

We had a craft table for the kids.  They were able to make a polar bear mask purchased at Oriental Trading Company and decorate a photo frame.

It was such a great celebration of life and adoption.  We are looking forward to planning next years birthday bash!!

A Glamour Girl Birthday Party for Kaylie

January 15, 2013

We had a total blast at Kaylie Redding’s 8th birthday party and were so honored to be a part of the production!  We designed the invitations and thank you notes using pink, green, purple and zebra print- all of Kaylie’s favorites!  We used the invitation to build and design the rest of the party in coordination with Ooh La La Events and Thomas Caterers of Distinction.  We created a glamour theme and personalized everything from favor bags and to-go dessert boxes to the Happy Birthday banner and signs for the dessert table.  The girls even had a printed schedule to help keep the party organized and to make sure they made it through all the activities!  Part of the evening fun (after getting hair, nails and make-up done and picking out clothes and jewelry) was getting their photos taken in our photo booth which included fun props and a fabulous white, vintage couch!   The party went off without a hitch and all the girls seemed to have a fantastic time!

If you have an upcoming event (birthday party, anniversary party, wedding, etc.) and need invitations, thank you notes, or any other customized graphic items we can do it all for you!   Also let us know if you would like to have a photo booth at your next event- we would love to be a part of it.  Call or email us for more information!
